Jamie Lynn Spears may be kicking her music career into high gear, but says her number one priority is still her daughter Maddie Briann, 3½.
“These days, the only thing I’m afraid of is not being a good mom,” Spears, 20, tells Glamour in their March issue. “As long as Maddie is healthy and she loves me, the rest doesn’t matter.”
She’s been taking performance advice from her older sister, Britney, and says motherhood has helped to bridge the 10-year age gap between them.
“Maddie loves her Aunt Britney’s songs,” according to the younger Spears, who adds that her little girl often has playdates with cousins Sean Preston, 6, and Jayden James, 5.

Jamie Lynn Spears, 20, took to a Nashville stage for the first time on Monday night, singing a set of her own original songs to a packed crowd of family and friends.
Grandfather June Spears traveled from the family’s hometown of Kentwood, La., with other relatives (although not sister Britney Spears, who is touring overseas) to cheer on Jamie Lynn, sitting near her beaming parents Lynne and Jamie Spears, as well as country music legend Pam Tillis. “I am so emotional tonight,” Lynne told PEOPLE after watching her youngest daughter perform. Her father, Jamie, concurred, saying, “We are so proud of her.”
Spears, who has been living in Nashville the past two years with her daughter, Maddie, 3, performed at The Rutledge, a live music venue on 4th Avenue South and took to Twitter to express her appreciation.
“Just wanna thank all my amazing friends and family for coming out tonight!!!” she wrote.
